Oklahoma Officer Shoots, Wounds Man Who Drew Gun

An officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department shot a man who reportedly drew a gun following a vehicle pursuit on Monday.

An officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department shot a man who reportedly drew a gun following a vehicle pursuit on Monday.

According to KOCO-TV, the incident started just before midnight near Western Avenue and I-240 when a police officer pulled over a vehicle due to a traffic violation. Police said a person from inside the vehicle pulled a gun on the officer, and the officer returned fire, wounding the subject.

The man then drove off, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit which ended when the subject vehicle stopped running due to damage sustained in the chase.

The man was taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
