According to Fox News, the man—identified as 32-year-old Karrar Noaman Al Khammasi, who entered the United States as an Iraqi refugee—is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony menacing, and illegal possession of a weapon.

In the incident, Officer Cam Duzel suffered a serious brain injury.
