Tennessee Officer Shoots Man Who Reportedly Struck Him With Vehicle

An officer with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department who was struck by a suspect driving a Chrysler 300 sedan early Saturday morning fired on the subject, wounding him.

An officer with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department who was struck by a suspect driving a Chrysler 300 sedan early Saturday morning fired on the subject, wounding him.

Police told WFMZ-TV, the man—identified as 30-year-old Pasquala Walls—had been brandishing a firearm and threatening citizens from within his car.

After the officer discharged his weapon, the suspect reportedly fled on foot but was soon tackled to the ground by nearby citizens. Police then took the man into custody and noted that he was in fact struck by gunfire.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police recovered a 9mm pistol with an extended magazine from the floorboard of Walls' car.
