Texas School District Soon to Get its Own Small Police Department

The Plainview Independent School District (ISD) is drawing ever closer to getting its own six-officer police department as the startup agency nears state approval.

The Plainview Independent School District (ISD) is drawing ever closer to getting its own six-officer police department as the startup agency nears state approval.

According to MyPlainview.com, all that's left is to finalize approval on the inter-local agreement between his new department, the Hale County Sheriff's Office and the Plainview Police Department, then send paperwork off to Austin to the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

If approved, the department will have a total of six officers, two of whom will be dedicated to SRO detail.
