Off-Duty Florida Officer Saves 2 People Trapped in Overturned Vehicle

An officer with the Cocoa (FL) Police Department was off duty and preparing to get into the shower when he heard a traffic accident near his Titusville home.

An officer with the Cocoa (FL) Police Department was off duty and preparing to get into the shower when he heard a traffic accident near his Titusville home.

According to FloridaToday, Corporal Kenneth Brackin went to investigate and saw a vehicle overturned in a water-filled ditch.

Brackin went into the water, opened one of the doors and extracted the two stranded victims from inside.

"Law enforcement officers are never truly off duty," Titusville Police Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson stated in a press release. "They are always prepared to take action if needed."
