An officer with the Miami Police Department reunited on Wednesday with the medical staff who saved his life following a horrific motorcycle crash earlier this year.

According to WPLG-TV, Officer Mario Gonzalez was off duty when he crashed his motorcycle into a car in early February.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors and other medical staff worked feverishly to keep him alive. He stayed in the hospital for 50 days before being cleared for release.

Gonzalez said his family and friends got him through the lowest points along with help from the community and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
