Dozens of citizens and officers gathered outside an Ohio Veterinary Clinic to say goodbye to K-9 Klink as he was put down due to illness on Monday.
Officer Eric Nicholson gathered Klink in his arms—the dog wrapped in a Thin Blue Line flag—and made the animal's final walk as officers stood in salute and citizens stood in support.
The agency said on Facebook, "The Richwood PD would like to thank everyone who came out today in support of K-9 Klink, Officer Eric Nicholson, the Nicholson family and the Richwood PD."
The post concluded, "Klink was a good boy and will be missed."
