Virginia Officer Wants Mattel to Bring Back Police Barbie Doll

Virginia Beach homicide detective Angela Murphy wanted to get a crime-fighting Barbie doll for her 6-year-old daughter, but discovered that the toy company no longer makes this version of the iconic toy.

An officer with the Virginia Beach Police Department wanted to give a Barbie Doll in a police uniform to her daughter, but discovered that despite the fact that there are dolls dressed in clothes representing more than 200 different careers, the police Barbie is no longer available for purchase.

According to WAVY-TV, Virginia Beach homicide detective Angela Murphy wanted to get a crime-fighting Barbie doll for her 6-year-old daughter, but discovered that the toy company no longer makes this version of the iconic toy.

Murphy mobilized several fellow officers and sent Mattel a message indicating that there are little girls and boys who want to see Barbie bear the badge.

It is unclear whether the toy maker will heed the call for Barbie to go 10-8.
