New York Police Shoot, Kill Knife-Wielding Man

According to Fox News, an officer first gave verbal commands to get the man—identified as 32-year-old Kawaski Trawick—to drop his weapons, and then when the subject didn't comply, deployed a TASER on him. The subject went to the ground but did not disarm himself of his weapons. As officers closed in to disarm the subject, he jumped to his feet and charged at the officers.

Officers with the New York Police Department shot and killed a man armed with a knife and a staff who had threatened his neighbors in a Bronx apartment building.

According to Fox News, an officer first gave verbal commands to get the man—identified as 32-year-old Kawaski Trawick—to drop his weapons, and then when the subject didn’t comply, deployed a TASER on him. The subject went to the ground but did not disarm himself of his weapons.

As officers closed in to disarm the subject, he jumped to his feet and charged at the officers. One officer fired his service pistol, striking Trawick several times.

Trawick was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
