New York Police Make Large Heroin Seizure During Traffic Stop

The vehicle's occupants—identified as 55-year-old Frank Roman and 23-year-old Erbert Edfrain Rosario—were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

New York State Police pulled over a vehicle for going 84 miles per hour in a 65 zone. During the stop troopers could smell marijuana and conducted a further search of the car.

They then discovered 500 doses of heroin concealed in the vehicle.

According to WHAM-TV, the vehicle's occupants—identified as 55-year-old Frank Roman and 23-year-old Erbert Edfrain Rosario—were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

New York State Police Public Information Officer Mark O'Donnell said the arrest and seizure could potentially have prevented "dozens and dozens" of possible overdoses.
