A North Carolina man was fatally shot by police over the weekend after he grabbed an officer's sidearm.

According to ABC News, the subject—identified as 30-year-old man Ondrae Levado Hutchinson was shot by police Saturday at a residence in Durham.

Police had been called to the home by a woman who told 911 that the father of her child was destroying property and scaring her.

Police arrived and began to interview both parties. During the interaction with Hutchinson, the subject became aggressive, and when officers tried to place him in handcuffs, he grabbed for an officer's gun.

One officer deployed a TASER, but the electronic control device was not effective in stopping the man.

Four officers opened fire, striking the subject.

Hutchinson was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
