2 Indiana Officers Injured by Accidental Discharge in Training

Two officers with the Fort Wayne (IN) Police Department were struck by a single bullet when one of the officer's service weapon accidentally discharged in training.

Two officers with the Fort Wayne (IN) Police Department were struck by a single bullet when one of the officer's service weapons accidentally discharged in training.

According to the Journal Gazette, the incident occurred in the gun range at the Public Safety Academy.

The agency's PIO told reporters, "We don't know how it happened… That's why the shooting team is here trying to recreate everything as well as talk to other officers to get an idea of what exactly took place."

The injured officers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
