An officer with the Birmingham (AL) Police Department who was badly injured when he was struck by a vehicle in November 2018 is getting some financial help from an Alabama non-profit called The Wounded Blue.

According to WBRC, Officer Tekulve Bowden suffered two broken legs when he was hit by a vehicle while investigating a car crash. Bowden hasn’t been able to work since the accident, and the bills are beginning to pile up.

The money raised will go toward Bowden's out-of-pocket medical bills and expenses for his family while he recovers.

The organization has posted an online fundraising page here.

Donors are asked to type Officer Bowden's name into the dialog box when making their donations.
