"Pokémon Go" Player Punches Japanese Police Officer Over Interrupted Game

A 40-year-old man in Japan’s Matsuyama City was reportedly stopped for questioning by a police officer, thus interrupting his game of "Pokémon Go."

A 40-year-old man in Japan’s Matsuyama City was reportedly stopped for questioning by a police officer, thus interrupting his game of "Pokémon Go."

Police were called to a local hotel when staff said about 50 people descended on the area to play the smartphone game. They were not guests, and entered the hotel without permission. 

According to Yahoo! Japan, the man said to the officer, "I'll kill you!" before striking the officer.

The officer did not suffer major injuries.
