A Boy Scout in Maryland saw that the fallen officer memorial at Thomas Pangborn Lodge 88 of the Fraternal Order of Police in Hagerstown could stand to have some work done to improve its appearance.

He swiftly took action, starting work in September of 2018 and finishing just two months later.

According to the Hagerstown Morning Herald, 16-year-old Caden Conrad decided to spruce up the memorial honoring fallen police officers to provide a space for families and the community to gather to remember the heroes and their service.

He added several flag poles to the area, made a wall from paving stones, and laid a concrete walkway.

The completion of the project was instrumental in his achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. The ceremony marking that accomplishment is pending.
