Kentucky Officer Shot, Suspect Arrested, After Vehicle Pursuit

An officer with the Hopkinsville (KY) Police Department was shot in a gunfight that erupted after stop sticks brought a vehicle pursuit to an end on Monday.

An officer with the Hopkinsville (KY) Police Department was shot in a gunfight that erupted after spike strips brought a vehicle pursuit to an end on Monday.

According to WKRN-TV, the officer—identified as Jeremy Davidson—was struck in the head and arm. He was transported to a hospital in Nashville, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Hopkinsville Police Chief Clayton Sumner told reporters the officer is "doing okay" but that he and his department would welcome any prayers from the community.

The suspect—identified as 28-year-old Keith Allen Kuzyk—was taken into custody after a manhunt.
