Ohio Officer Killed in Head-On Collision

An off-duty officer with the Clearcreek Township (OH) Police Department was killed in a traffic collision on Monday night.

An off-duty officer with the Clearcreek Township (OH) Police Department was killed in a traffic collision on Monday night.

According to WCPO-TV, 27-year-old Officer Jerrid Lee was hit head on by 31-year-old Justin Watts. Watts was driving a 2006 GMC Envoy eastbound on State Route 125 when he crossed the center line and hit Officer Lee in his 1997 Honda Civic in the westbound lane.

Officer Lee died at the scene.

Watts declined medical treatment.

Authorities believe drugs were a factor in the crash. Watts has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.
