An officer with the Milwaukee (WI) Police Department was injured when a hit-and-run driver struck him while he was conducting a traffic stop on Tuesday.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, 26-year-old Officer Alberto Figueroa had pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation when he was struck by one of two vehicles that passed by him at a high rate of speed.

After Figueroa was struck, the occupants of the vehicle he had pulled over immediately exited their vehicle and began performing life-saving procedures on the injured officer.
