Washington Police Shoot, Kill Knife-Wielding Man

Officers with the Lakewood (WA) Police Department were responding to a call of a man armed with a knife when the subject reportedly moved toward them in a threatening manner, forcing police to open fire with their service weapons.

Officers with the Lakewood (WA) Police Department were responding to a call of a man armed with a knife when the subject reportedly moved toward them in a threatening manner, forcing police to open fire with their service weapons.

According to KIRO-TV, the man—identified as Keith Harvey—had a stroke and suffered from some manner of mental health issues.

The three officers involved in the incident are now on paid administrative leave.
