During a call for service late in the final days of 2018, an officer with the Fort Collins (CO) Police Department discovered a wedding ring that had been missing for more than a year.

Upon examination, Officer Dane Stratton discovered that the ring bore an inscription to an individual named Natniel.

Officer Stratton used some good old-fashioned police investigation skills to sleuth out the owner's last name, and then enlisted the assistance of a local jeweler to have the ring cleaned and polished.

The department said on its Facebook page, "The day after Christmas, the two met up. Nati was all smiles, couldn't wait to show his wife, and told Officer Dane the discovery couldn't have come at a better time in his life. Nati, we wish your family all the best!"
