3 Killed in Milwaukee When Car Sought in Connection to Robberies Crashes into River During Police Pursuit

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled. Surveillance video shows the fleeing vehicle continued speeding east on Greenfield and the driver losing control and careening into the KK River, police said.

A 19-year-old woman died Monday night after the car she was in crashed into the Kinnickinnic River during a police pursuit, Milwaukee police said, and two more people, including the woman's 2-year-old daughter, were found in the submerged car Tuesday. The car was wanted in connection to a series of robberies in Milwaukee.

The bodies of a 29-year-old man and the toddler were found in the car when it was pulled from the river at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Journal-Sentinel reports.

The vehicle police were chasing about 8:30 p.m. Monday was sought in connection with several armed robberies near West Arrow Street and South Comstock Avenue, police said in a news release.
