Police are thanking a concerned citizen and a quick-acting off-duty officer with the Seguin (TX) Police Department for preventing what could have been a tragic incident at a neighborhood church.

According to the Austin American Statesman, 33-year-old Tony Dwayne Albert was wearing "tactical style clothing" and carrying a loaded firearm with extra ammunition.

Police were called, and while officers were en route, the off-duty officer reportedly engaged the subject.

The Statesman reports that Albert told the officer that he was en-route to the unidentified church to fulfill what he called a prophecy.

"The Seguin Police Department is extremely grateful to the citizen who called police," the department said in the news release. "If this subject was not stopped and apprehended, the results could have ended differently."

Albert was arrested and charged as a felon in possession of a firearm and was transported to Guadalupe County Jail.
