Connecticut Police Shoot, Kill Knife-Wielding Man Reportedly Attacking Officer

An officer with the Danbury (CT) Police Department reportedly shot and killed a man who was lunging at him with a knife in his hand. A woman in the apartment where the incident took place was also wounded. She is reportedly related to the knife-wielding subject.

An officer with the Danbury (CT) Police Department reportedly shot and killed a man who was lunging at him with a knife in his hand. A woman in the apartment where the incident took place was also wounded. She is reportedly related to the knife-wielding subject.

The officer reportedly attempted at first to deploy a TASER, but was forced to open fire when the device failed to stop the man's advance.

According to the News Times, police were called to the apartment complex in response to a suspicious person in the vicinity.

Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, where the man later died. The woman is expected to be okay.

The Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime is investigating the incident.
