The agency put naming of the dog to the local elementary school children, who decided that the pup be named "Copper."

Copper will now undergo about a year of training, and the department will modify one of its vehicles to accommodate the animal.

According to the Capital Gazette, Copper was donated to the agency by a breeder in North Carolina.
