Washington Officer Arrested on Charges of First-Degree Custodial Sexual Misconduct

A veteran police officer with the Pullman (WA) Police Department has been arrested and charged with a felony count of first-degree custodial sexual misconduct.

According to the Associated Press, a veteran police officer with the Pullman (WA) Police Department has been arrested and charged with a felony count of first-degree custodial sexual misconduct.

The incident in question reportedly involves an intoxicated Washington State University freshman in the custody of 49-year-old Sergeant Dan Hargraves.

"The alleged criminal misconduct is completely unacceptable behavior for a Pullman Police Officer," Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins said in a statement. "We place a high value on the community's trust, and we will continue to work every day to earn and maintain that trust."

Hargraves had been on paid administrative leave or desk duty since early April, when the woman reported the incident to police.
