New York Football Giants backup quarterback Kyle Lauletta has been arrested for nearly striking an officer directing traffic in Weehawken, NJ.

According to NJ.com, the incident was not the first time the benchwarmer had nearly hit an officer—he did exactly the same thing the day before at exactly the same location, the paper reports.

Police have not responded to requests for more information on the arrest.

"We are aware of the situation and are in contact with Kyle," a Giants official said. "We are still gathering information."

The Giants' 2018 campaign on the field has been something of a tire fire, with off-field issues likely contributing to the team's ugly performance resulting in a record of one win and seven losses halfway through the season.
