Virginia Police Unhurt in Ambush Attack, Suspect Seriously Wounded

Police officers with the Prince William (VA) County Police Department were responding to a call about a man firing shots from his residence and as they arrived on the scene, the man shot at the officers with a rifle in what appeared to be an ambush.

Police officers with the Prince William (VA) County Police Department were responding to a call about a man firing shots from his residence and as they arrived on the scene, the man shot at the officers with a rifle in what appeared to be an ambush.

Police say the man was outside his home when he began firing on the officers. A police cruiser was struck by several bullets, according to WTOP Radio.

Two officers returned fire, striking the subject with an unknown number of shots.

The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

No officers were injured in the shooting.
