New Jersey Officer Dragged by Car Fleeing Traffic Stop is Uninjured

Hank McLaughlin had stopped 37-year-old Antwione Carr and asked the driver to get out of the car after McLaughlin smelled marijuana. When Carr began to roll up his window, McLaughlin reached inside, and was briefly dragged as Carr attempted to flee.

An officer with the Harrison Township (NJ) Police Department was dragged by a car during a motor vehicle stop on Friday night, according to NJ.com.

Hank McLaughlin had stopped 37-year-old Antwione Carr and asked the driver to get out of the car after McLaughlin smelled marijuana. When Carr began to roll up his window, McLaughlin reached inside, and was briefly dragged as Carr attempted to flee.

McLaughlin was not injured during the incident, according to officials.

Carr has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, eluding, obstruction, resisting arrest, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
