The Peach County, GA, district attorney's office has released a dashcam video of a November 2016 incident in which two sheriff's deputies were killed when they tried to arrest a local man.

Ralph Stanley “Robin” Elrod Jr. was captured on a cellphone threatening to kill another man who was riding a motorcycle on the road outside his home. Deputies Daryl Smallwood and Patrick Sondron responded and Elrod shot and killed them when they tried to arrest him over the threat.

Elrod was later taken into custody after he was wounded in a pitched gunbattle with law enforcement.

He pleaded guilty last week to the two murders. The Macon Telegraph reports that Elrod avoided a potential death penalty trial and was sentenced to two life in prison without parole terms plus 100 years.
