NYPD Think Man Who Shot at Upstate Police May be in Brooklyn

The 42-year-old suspect—identified as Joshua Stuart—is accused of firing a gun inside the Ellenville (NY) Regional Hospital on Friday.

The New York Daily News reports that a man suspected of attempting to shoot police officers in Upstate New York may be hiding out in Brooklyn.

The 42-year-old suspect—identified as Joshua Stuart—is accused of firing a gun inside the Ellenville (NY) Regional Hospital on Friday.

He then reportedly fled in a white Dodge Ram 1500 and drove to Napanoch, where the vehicle was later found by state Department of Environmental Police.

Stuart reportedly fired four or five shots at the officers, then fled on foot into a wooded area.

"Joshua Stuart is believed to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol and extremely dangerous," State Police said in a Facebook post.
