1 Kansas Deputy Dead, 1 Critical After Courthouse Shooting

Two Wyandotte County (KS) sheriff’s deputies were shot Friday morning near a courthouse in downtown Kansas City, Kansas.

UPDATE (11:50 A.M. Pacific Time): 

One deputy has died at the hospital from his injuries and the other is in critical condition. The surviving deputy is female.

Two Wyandotte County (KS) sheriff’s deputies were shot Friday morning near a courthouse in downtown Kansas City, Kansas.

Sources told WDAF-TV that one officer has critical injuries.

The suspect was also shot, and all were taken to hospitals.

KCPD Chief Terry Zeigler said on Twitter that the department is “working a major incident” but gave no additional details.
