PowerDMS Announces the 2018 State of Policy in Law Enforcement Survey

For the third consecutive year, the survey will collect data and opinions from law enforcement leaders throughout the country to produce a comprehensive report on the current state of policy and training in policing today. To participate in the survey, visit www.stateofpolicy.com.

PowerDMS, a leading provider of cloud-based policy management software for law enforcement, announced today the launch of its 2018 State of Policy in Law Enforcement survey.

For the third consecutive year, the survey will collect data and opinions from law enforcement leaders throughout the country to produce a comprehensive report on the current state of policy and training in policing today. To participate in the survey, visit www.stateofpolicy.com.

Last year, 350 law enforcement professionals, representing 46 states, participated in the survey to reveal what issues are forming policy and training trends in an ever-changing society and how agencies are managing this rapid change. Their insights, including where they turn for policy advice, how they communicate policies to officers, and how they’re combatting a loss of training funds can be found in the 2017 State of Policy report.

“The State of Policy report helps us benchmark our best practices against other agencies throughout the country,” said Captain Tommy West of the York-Poquoson (VA) Sheriff’s Office. “It provides information on new policy and training trends that could impact the future of law enforcement.”

The survey, which is open until July 20, is conducted confidentially and participating individuals remain anonymous.

“The purpose of the State of Policy is to provide a resource for law enforcement agencies to compare their department’s operations to others around the country, and find new ways to equip personnel with the tools they need to do what is expected of them,” said David DiGiacomo, CEO of PowerDMS. “Police agencies are consistently challenged to do more with less. By providing the industry with the right mix of insight, knowledge, and tools, we will enable them to more effectively and efficiently work to keep their communities—and their officers—safe.”

The results of this year’s survey will be revealed during the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in Orlando, FL, on October 7. Interested individuals can download the report at IACP, or by visiting www.stateofpolicy.com. Those who participate in the survey will receive an advanced copy of the report.
