Two California Highway Patrol officers were injured, one seriously, after being struck by a car along Interstate 40 in the state's Inland Empire region on Tuesday.
The officers were hit while they were investigating another incident on the interstate near mile marker 150, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. They were outside their vehicle when the incident occurred, ABC7 reports.
The identities of the officers were not released.
