Man Riding Horse on California Freeway Arrested for DUI

Officers responded to the roadway around 1 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a man riding in eastbound lanes from Paramount Boulevard to Downey Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol arrest report.

A man who was spotted riding a horse on the 91 Freeway in the Long Beach, CA, area was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Saturday, authorities said.

Officers responded to the roadway around 1 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a man riding in eastbound lanes from Paramount Boulevard to Downey Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol arrest report.

The man was stopped as he exited the 91 at Downey and rode across Bellflower city limits, KTLA TV reports. His blood alcohol level was found to be more than double the legal limit, with two screenings showing results of .21 percent and .19 percent, the agency said. He was booked on suspicion of a DUI.
