AL Officer Ambushed in Car, Shot in Arm Near Suspected Drug House

An unknown suspect reportedly walked up to the cruiser and fire a shot in the cruiser. Police were able to locate the getaway car, but the suspects were not inside the vehicle.

A Birmingham, AL, officer was shot in the line of duty just before midnight Thursday. The officer was sitting in a police cruiser while he was working a tip about a potential drug house.

An unknown suspect reportedly walked up to the cruiser and fire a shot in the cruiser. Police were able to locate the getaway car, but the suspects were not inside the vehicle.

The officer was shot in the arm and is out of the hospital this morning, ABC 3340 reports.
