The 26-year veteran of the police force needs a kidney transplant, and he didn’t have to look past the roster of city workers to find one.

One of Wood’s former DARE students who is currently a city employee, Trey Ammons, is a match and will donate his kidney for a transplant June 23 at Piedmont Hosptal in Atlanta, the Macon Telegraph reports.
