Following the fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge, LA, the Baltimore Police Department is requiring - effective immediately – that two officers respond to every call for service in the city, reports the Baltimore Sun.
"While we are not doubling up in cars, we are requiring two cars to respond to all calls for service," Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said in a statement. "This will stay in effect until further notice."
"The safety of our police officers is paramount to their families, our community, and me. Our capacity to serve relies on our commitment to keep our police officers safe as they protect our community," Davis said.
