A man who took off in a West Covina, CA, police car was killed in an officer-involved shooting that resulted after a police SUV crashed into the stolen vehicle in Glendale to end a high-speed pursuit, authorities said.

Authorities withheld the name of the fatally wounded man, who was in his 30s.

No officers were injured.

The man reportedly called West Covina Police to ask for an Armenian-speaking officer to be dispatched to his home. When the officer arrived, the man reportedly asked the officer to drive him to another location. A confrontation ensued, and the man somehow drove off in the officer's patrol vehicle.

Officers pursued the stolen cruiser at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour until a police SUV crashed into its driver's side door to make it stop in a Glendale parking lot.

The fatal shooting involved officers from the West Covina Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. William Cotter told Fox 11.
