Something as simple as a beer may help Denver Officer Tony Lopez Jr.'s recovery. Lopez was wounded during a traffic stop on Federal Boulevard. Police say Jason Wood shot Lopez several times and drove away. Lopez nearly died.

Lost Highway Brewing Company, at 520 East Colfax, is stepping in to assist with recovery.

Owners named their pilsner District 6 Pils when they opened three years ago, in honor of Lopez's father. Tony Lopez, Sr. is a commander with Denver Police and works at the District 6 station.

Now, the brewery will donate all proceeds from the District 6 Pilsner for the next six days (starting Thursday Dec. 10) to the officer's recovery,  ABC 7 reports.

Owners will also give a free pint to anyone who donates blood at any Bonfils Blood Bank in the name of Officer Lopez.
