Son of Slain U.S. Marshal Born in Louisiana

U.S. Marshal Josie Wells' widow has given birth to a healthy baby boy in Louisiana who bears his father's name.

U.S. Marshal Josie Wells' widow has given birth to a healthy baby boy in Louisiana who bears his father's name. The Louisiana Concerns of Police Survivors Facebook page posted, "La. C.O.P.S. would like to welcome to the world Josie Wells, Jr. Son of Mrs Channing Wells and the late Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells, Sr. -EOW 3/10/2015."

The 27-year-old U.S. Marshal died after he was shot Mar. 10 in Scotlandville, La., near Baton Rouge while executing a warrant on a double homicide suspect. At the time, his wife had just found out she was pregnant with the couple's first child.
