Roman Forest (Texas) Police Chief Stephen Carlisle has implemented a plan, effective immediately, to have two police officers per patrol unit. This is following an executive order from Mayor Chris Parr to have two man units on patrol.
“We will be using our reserves and paid overtime for our officers using unused funds from our existing budget, in the short term,” Chief Stephen Carlisle told the Montgomery County Police Reporter. “I want to thank the mayor for giving me the tools I need to keep our police officers safe.”
The change comes on the heels of several recent deadly attacks on police officers, including last Friday’s murder of Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth, who was shot from behind and killed while pumping gas.
