California Man Arrested After Walking into Police Station with Handgun

Police arrested a man Sunday after he allegedly walked into the Suisun City (CA) Police Department lobby armed with a loaded handgun, indicating he wanted to be shot by an officer, according to police.

Around 10:30 a.m., 29-year-old Suisun City resident Thong Yang arrived at the station, located at 701 Civic Center Blvd., police said.

After Yang indicated his intention, officers engaged in crisis communications with him for about 30 minutes, police said.

During the incident a 911 dispatching center located adjacent to the lobby was evacuated, according to police.

Eventually officers were able to talk Yang into surrendering and officers detained him, police said.
