Corporal Adam Willis of the Mt. Pleasant (S.C.) Police Department responded to a call of a car on fire. When he got there, the front of the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Instead of waiting for backup to arrive, Willis, who's a 10-year veteran of the department, didn't hesitate to jump into action. He used a fire extinguisher from inside his patrol car in an effort to put out some of the flames.

He then noticed the door was slightly open, and when he looked inside the car, he saw an arm holding the steering wheel. With the fire still burning out of control, the officer pulled the driver out of the vehicle.

Investigators told WLTX TV the 27-year-old man in the car was drunk, and had no memory of his car being on fire.
