Two in Custody Over Shooting of Maryland Officer, Officer's Condition Improving

Sunday, the wounded Anne Arundel County police officer, Cpl. Larry Adams, was upgraded from critical condition to serious condition at Shock Trauma.

Two suspects are in custody in connection with the early Friday shooting of an Anne Arundel County, Md., police officer.

The first suspect was identified Friday night as Colvin White, 30, of Annapolis. He was charged with attempted first- and attempted second-degree murder, and weapons and robbery charges.

County police announced Sunday that Danielle Nicole Blake, 29, of Severn, has been charged with conspiracy to commit attempted first- and attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and handgun use in commission of violent crime.

Also Sunday, the wounded Anne Arundel County police officer, Cpl. Larry Adams, was upgraded from critical condition to serious condition at Shock TraumaWBAL TV reports.

Lt. T.J. Smith said the shooting happened early Friday near a 7-Eleven along College Parkway in the Arnold area. Smith said Adams approached a man who was reportedly acting suspiciously, an altercation ensued and the man fled.

Adams gave chase, after which witnesses reported hearing at least one gunshot.
