Los Angeles police went on a citywide tactical alert Thursday after two shootings in Palms left one person dead and at least three others wounded, officials said.
The first shooting was reported just before 3 p.m. in the 3300 block of Motor Avenue, said Officer Tony Im. Another shooting was reported just blocks away near the intersection of Overland Avenue and National Boulevard, reports the Los Angeles Times.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Im said. Three others were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
