The Florida state attorney's office has released the report on the July 9 domestic shooting between two Naples police officers that left one dead, reports the News-Press.

The report found that Officer Luis "David" Monroig shot Sgt. Amy Young and then himself in the head. The shooting happened in an Estero home where the pair lived. The couple had six children between them from previous relationships.

There will be no charges filed against Young.

Young did not wish to speak directly to reporters, but spoke through her attorney. "She's just relieved it's over. There were a lot of things that were being said that were not true," Young's attorney, Donald Day, said on her behalf.

"The evidence indicates there was an escalating argument," the analysis section of the report reads. "Amy Young armed herself, as did Luis Monroig. Monroig shot Amy Young and then fatally shot himself. Why he fired the shot that wounded Young is unknown."
