Authorities say four people, including an Elmore County, Ala., sheriff's deputy, were killed in a head-on crash in Wetumpka.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin said the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:45 p.m. Sunday on Firetower Road, ABC3340.com reports.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety said 16-year-old Austin Ray Augustine of Wetumpka was killed when the 2003 Infinity G35 he was driving collided with 50-year-old Deputy James Bart Hart's Dodge Charger patrol car.

Also killed were two 16-year-old passengers in the Infinity: Dylan Adler Bieber and Hoyt Elliot Hardin, both of Wetumpka.
