A 24-year-old Port Huron man was shot by police Tuesday after officers said he tried to run over a Drug Task Force officer during a narcotics investigation.

St. Clair County Drug Task Force officers were in the area investigating the sale of heroin when a marked Port Huron police vehicle was requested to make a traffic stop, the Times Herald reports.

Two members of the Drug Task Force fired single shots into the man's vehicle. Law enforcement officers then administered first aid to the man.
