About one mile into the joyride, they allegedly lost control of the car and slammed into the five pedestrians standing near a corner fruit stand at Germantown and Alleghany Avenues.

A 10-year-old boy died on the scene, while another child died at at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia's police homicide Capt. James Clark said. The SUV's owner, another adult, and a third child were listed in critical condition at the hospital.
