K-9 Funding Grant Submissions Still Being Accepted

There is still time for all eligible police departments to submit applications for the 2014-2015 Ben Roethlisberger Foundation grant cycle to obtain funding for purchasing K-9s and K-9 gear.

There is still time for all eligible police departments to submit applications for the 2014-2015 Ben Roethlisberger Foundation grant cycle to obtain funding for purchasing K-9s and K-9 gear.

The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, founded by Pittsburgh Steeler’s quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, welcomes grant inquiries for support in 2014. The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation will disperse grants to police and fire departments’ K-9 units throughout the U.S. This is the eighth grant cycle and the majority of the grants distributed will help K-9 units to purchase dogs and dog safety vests, but other types of K-9 related needs are considered.

K-9 units of police and fire departments in Pittsburgh, Pa., and in the city/surrounding area of each regular season away game for the Steelers in the 2014 regular season are eligible. For each round of playoffs entered by the Steelers, the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation will also award a grant to one city anywhere in the U.S. that would not otherwise be eligible (must be non-NFL market cities).

All grants (including non-NFL markets) for the 2014-2015 season must be postmarked by August 15, 2014 (only mailed applications are accepted). Only completed applications will be reviewed.
